Race Day Logistics
The Start Line & Bib Pickup
Location: The intersection of Mason Street and Crissy Field Avenue, near the Movement San Francisco climbing gym.
Bib Pickup: Located directly at the start line area. Look for the event tents set up on the plaza and grass areas adjacent to the intersection.
Important Notice: Old Mason Street will be completely closed to vehicle traffic for this event. Traditional driving routes and parking lots directly along the airfield, including the lots outside Movement SF and Camp + King, will be entirely inaccessible. Please plan ahead and utilize the designated access points below.
Parking Information (With Old Mason Closed)
Because Old Mason Street is fully closed, there is no vehicle access to the immediate event footprint. Please utilize the following nearby parking zones and use the pedestrian trails to walk or warm up to the start line:
Presidio Tunnel Tops & Main Post Lots (Closest Option):
Where: Paid parking lots up the hill at the Presidio Main Post, near Anza Avenue or the Presidio Transit Center.
Access: This is the most direct option. Park here and walk down the Presidio Tunnel Tops pathways and steps. They bridge directly over the highway and drop you right at the Mason Street and Crissy Field Avenue intersection. It is less than a 5-minute walk down the hill.
Palace of Fine Arts / Lyon Street:
Where: Street parking and neighborhood lots around 3601 Lyon Street.
Access: Head north to the Crissy Field Promenade trail, then head west. It is a flat, scenic 8-to-10-minute walk or jog to the start line intersection. Neighborhood street parking is typically easier to find early on Sunday mornings.
Marina Green Parking Lots:
Where: Located along Marina Boulevard.
Access: Park here and take a flat warm-up jog westward along the San Francisco Bay Trail / Golden Gate Promenade directly to the Mason Street intersection.
Public Transportation (Sunday Morning Muni Bus Lines)
Taking public transit allows you to avoid race-day parking entirely. Keep in mind that Muni operates on a Sunday schedule on race morning:
Line 43 (Masonic): Service runs early on Sunday mornings (approximately every 20 minutes). It drops off at the Presidio Transit Center area up the hill. From there, walk straight down the Tunnel Tops trails to arrive directly at the start line intersection.
Line 30 (Marina): Service begins at 6:00 AM on weekends (approximately every 12 minutes). It takes you to Broderick Street and Beach Street near Marina Green. From there, join the waterfront trail and head west to the race start.
Line 28 (19th Avenue): Service runs early on Sunday mornings. It drops off at Richardson Avenue and Francisco Street, which is a short walk to the eastern entrance of the park.
Biking & Rideshare (Uber/Lyft)
By Bike: The San Francisco Bay Trail / Golden Gate Promenade bike path runs right past the start line intersection. Bike racks will be available near the start and bib pickup area. Because Old Mason Street is closed to cars, cyclists must use the designated bike paths to approach the start and exercise caution around pedestrians.
Rideshare Drop-off Zone: Instruct your driver to set their destination to the Palace of Fine Arts (3601 Lyon Street) or the Presidio Transit Center. Do not attempt to input "Crissy Field," "Movement SF," or "Old Mason Street" into your app, as GPS routing will be blocked by the road closures. From either drop-off point, it is a short walk to the starting line.
Pro-Tips for Race Day
Arrive 45 to 60 Minutes Early: While this central start line is easily accessible from nearby parking and transit, you will want plenty of time to navigate the trails, collect your bib, and utilize gear check before the start.
Account for Sunday Transit Frequencies: If you are taking Muni, plan your trip using the transit app ahead of time, as Sunday morning buses run slightly less frequently than on weekdays.
Dress in Layers: Sunday mornings at Crissy Field are notoriously foggy and breezy. A gear check will be available right at the start line intersection so you can stay warm until it is time to run.
